To our Terrigal community: the families, the regulars, the first-timers who became locals, and everyone who has pulled up a chair at our table over the past 30 years. We have some exciting news to share.
Hungry Wolf's Terrigal is becoming Hungry Italiano.
This is not a goodbye to everything you have known and loved. It is the next chapter of a story that started over three decades ago, right here opposite Terrigal Beach. Same team. Same kitchen. Same genuine commitment to feeding the Central Coast community with food made from the heart. Just a bigger, bolder, more authentically Italian table to gather around.
The story behind the name
When Hungry Wolf's first opened its doors in Terrigal, we built something real. A local restaurant with genuine warmth, generous portions, and Italian food that gave the Central Coast community a reason to come back again and again. Over 30 years, that trust grew into something we are deeply proud of: a place where birthdays were celebrated, families gathered, and the smell of fresh pizza and pasta became part of the fabric of life on the Central Coast.
The Hungry Wolf's name carried us well through those years. But as we looked honestly at who we are and what we cook, it became clear that our name and our food were telling slightly different stories. Our heart has always been Italian. Our kitchen has always been Italian. The food we are most passionate about, the dishes that make our guests push back their chairs and reach for another serving: all of it is rooted deeply in the traditions of Italian cooking.

Why we are expanding our menu
The rebrand is about more than a new name. It is a genuine commitment to going deeper into what Italian food can be.
We have always cooked Italian. But Hungry Italiano gives us the freedom to be more Italian. To bring more of the regional dishes, the traditional classics, and the full breadth of Italian cuisine to our menu in a way that the Hungry Wolf's name never quite invited us to do.
That means more pasta varieties. More traditional Italian recipes drawn from the full richness of Italian regional cooking. More of the dishes that Italian grandmothers have been making for generations, done properly with fresh ingredients and real technique. Alongside our beloved pizzas and the pasta dishes our regulars have always loved, guests will find a broader, more adventurous Italian menu that celebrates everything this cuisine does best.
What stays the same
We know that when a beloved local restaurant changes its name, the first question is always: but will the food still be the same?
Here is our honest answer: the things that made Hungry Wolf's worth loving are not going anywhere.
We are still right here opposite Terrigal Beach, in the same location the Central Coast community has known for over 30 years. Our kitchen is still the same kitchen. Our team is still the same team. Every dish is still made to order using fresh ingredients, because that is the only way we know how to cook.
You will also notice we have kept "Hungry" in our new name. That was a deliberate choice. It is our way of honouring the Hungry Wolf's name that served this community for over 30 years, and acknowledging the history and heart that came with it. The word means something to us. It speaks to the appetite, the energy, and the genuine passion for food that has driven everything we do from day one. Hungry Italiano carries that forward.
The warmth, the generosity, the genuine hospitality that has made us a fixture of life in Terrigal, Avoca Beach, Wamberal, and Erina. None of that changes with a new name. If anything, Hungry Italiano gives us the chance to bring more of that spirit to the table.
Our catering is staying too. If you have relied on us to feed your birthday celebrations, family gatherings, or beachside events across the Central Coast, that does not change. Our catering bundles are still available, still designed for groups of all sizes, and still built around the same made-to-order Italian food our catering customers have always trusted.

Thirty years is a long time to be part of a community. And over those thirty years, the people of Terrigal, Avoca Beach, Wamberal, North Avoca, Erina, and across the Central Coast have given us something we could never repay: your trust, your loyalty, and your presence at our tables on the occasions that matter most.
We have been there for the birthday dinners and the family catch-ups. The first dates and the anniversary celebrations. The Tuesday nights when no one felt like cooking and the big Sunday lunches that stretched well into the afternoon. We do not take any of that lightly.
Hungry Italiano is our way of honouring everything we have built together, while giving ourselves the room to grow into the restaurant we have always wanted to be. More Italian. More expansive. More of the food that makes people genuinely happy to be sitting around a table together.
